Leadership Development Strategist

Being an educator is not just what Janet Kingsley does, it is who she is. Her father was a teacher and she saw on a daily basis the difference he made in children’s lives. Education was a central theme in her home while she was growing up and learning was always respected, revered, and fun!

Janet earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Her major was elementary education K-9, with minors in special education and reading disabilities. She earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

Janet’s teaching experience includes 29 years of instruction in middle school, K-8 multi-categorical special education, self-contained special education, inclusion special education, and Title 1 reading. She also facilitated a master’s course in curriculum and instruction at Wichita State University. Janet joined the Flippen Group as a summer trainer for Capturing Kids’ Hearts in 2006 and became a full-time leadership development strategist in 2014.

In 2001, Janet was named Teacher of the Year for the state of Kansas. In 2002, she was honored to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in mathematics and science teaching for the state. As the recipient of these honors, she was allowed to travel the state of Kansas and spread her message of giving children compassion, love, acceptance, and hope. She received the Boeing International Educators to Space award in 2000 and the Kansas “People On Our Side” award in 2001 for her service to the community.

As an adult, Janet has pursued a lifelong commitment to learning, to being an advocate for children who desperately need one, and to making a positive impact on young lives.

Janet lives in Wichita, KS near her parents and children.
