Leadership Profile

Maggie Lozano

Maggie Lozano

Leadership Development Advisor

Maggie was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, but moved to Texas by her first birthday and has been a Texas resident ever since. She comes from a very large family – eleven siblings – and she’s the youngest of the crew. Building relationships and working to be a family “team” has been in her life since birth.

Maggie received her bachelor’s degree in education from Stephen F. Austin University and has been a teacher for 25 years in the Aledo ISD. She has taught all age groups, but being a kindergarten teacher is her passion. She loves the “little people” and finds that all life’s lessons play out in the kindergarten classroom. As the saying goes, “I learned everything I needed to know about life in kindergarten.” She has collaborated with fellow teachers to implement a core leadership curriculum at her school with Capturing Kids’ Hearts as its foundation.

She attended Capturing Kids’ Hearts in 2005, the start of both a wonderful friendship with her trainer, Julie Stapp, and her eventual recruitment as a summer trainer for the Flippen Group. Maggie considers her friendship and recruitment as turning points, not only for her teaching career, but for her personal life as well. Maggie’s personal mission statement is simply “make a positive impact.”

She enjoys running, reading, and most of all, being with her family. Maggie has been married to the love of her life, Richard, for 25 years. She has three amazing children, Kathrine, Nicholas, and Madeleine, and she loves going to all their activities.

Maggie truly feels building relationships can positively change school culture and impact our world. Big plans in small steps can create a positive change. In the words of Maya Angelou:

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said,
People will forget what you did,
But people will never forget how you made them feel.
