Alicia Blythe’s teaching style changed after attending Capturing Kids’ Hearts in 1998. The training helped her transform the way she saw and interacted with her students, parents, colleagues and even family. She began to grow skills and heart that resulted in a win-win for relationships and increased learning. She joined the Flippen Group team in 2002.
Having grown up in Austin, Alicia earned her degree from Texas State University, including her Master’s in counseling and psychology. She taught elementary, middle, and high school and, as a secondary teacher for a number of years, taught English, speech communication, and LeadWorthy (formerly Teen Leadership). Soon, she became an elementary and middle school counselor. She also taught as an adjunct instructor in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University, helping future teachers understand the value of interpersonal relationships. Her career has taken her to Killeen, Comal, Westlake in Eanes, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, and Hays.
Alicia’s husband, Tuck, a school administrator, ensures his campuses are Capturing Kids’ Hearts trained. Both Alicia and Tuck enjoy live theatre, good books, and travel. A frequent travel destination is to Greece where their four grandchildren reside.
