Breana Grimes grew up moving around the country from Lodi, CA to Memphis, TN, finally landing in Wimberley, TX. Those varied cultural experiences instilled a compassion for humanity. She graduated from Texas A&M University and then worked for Texas A&M as an academic advisor in health & kinesiology. Breana used her love of education and heart of service to guide many students to success at Texas A&M. She co-taught a learning community for first-generation college students, which fostered the desire to help more young people achieve their dreams.
After seven years in higher education and with the idea that you should “be the change you wish to see in the world,” Breana obtained her teaching certificate. She began teaching at Sam Rayburn Middle School in Bryan, Texas, and experienced life changes both personally and professionally with the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process. Breana has taught in several Texas school districts over 15 years in education, loving and empowering children in 5th-8th grade. She currently serves as a teacher and social studies department head at Pecan Trail Intermediate School in College Station, Texas. Breana joined the Flippen Group as a trainer for Capturing Kids’ Hearts in 2017 and is committed to sharing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process in classrooms and schools across the nation.
Breana is married to her college sweetheart, Justin, who serves as the principal of Huntsville High School. They have been married for almost 20 years and have two beautiful and active daughters, Gracie and Callie. Breana treasures time with family and friends. Affectionately called “the foodie” of her family, she loves to cook, watch Aggie sports, and vacation on the beach in Florida.
