Leadership Profile

Dr. Kristen Kuhlmann

Dr. Kristen Kuhlmann

Leadership Development Advisor

Kristen prides herself on being a lifelong learner. She has been a teacher and administrator in Kansas her entire educational career and was encouraged by one of her administrators to complete her master’s degree in administration. She did so a bit reluctantly because her heart has always been in the classroom with students.

She realized she could make an even bigger impact with staff and students and enjoyed the challenge of administration. Her ‘classroom’ now became the teachers, and she loved getting to be a part of helping them to be more impactful as she found her passion in professional development.

After being at the building level for nine years, Kristen decided to give district level administration a try. Because she was responsible for professional development, she was able to bring Teen Leadership to the middle school and train every teacher in Capturing Kids’ Hearts.  Within two years, this building went from having the worst culture survey to having the best, which she believes is a direct result of Capturing Kids’ Hearts.

Kristen truly enjoys meeting new people and building relationships. She has returned to leading a high school campus as principal, since her passion is working with students and staff. She recently received her doctorate in educational leadership from Kansas State University and continues to love learning in any capacity.

Kristen has two beautiful children and enjoys spending time with them when she’s not traveling the country, making new friends.
