Like a great utility player to any sports team, Kim Wilson comes ready to play a variety of positions. Kim was born and raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He graduated from various institutions including the Citadel with degrees in education, counseling and guidance, along with a master’s degree in school administration. Along with time in the classroom, he continued his educational career in South Carolina working as a Director of Guidance, Associate Principal, then a Principal, and ultimately the Executive Director of Secondary Learning. Of his various recognitions and achievements, he is most proud of being named South Carolina Secondary Principal of the year 2013-2014.
Having attended his first Capturing Kids’ Hearts training in 2010, Kim felt the process was a perfect fit to his leadership philosophy. He trained his entire staff from the school porters to the front office along with all teachers in Capturing Kids’ Hearts processes. Soon Stall High School was recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School. Kim believes that the success of a school begins with the leadership. It is their responsibility to develop a school culture based on strong relationships.
Kim resides in Charleston, South Carolina with his beautiful wife, Betsy, also an educator. They have two children: Whitney, who recruits teachers for the Charleston County School District and Wesley, an engineer. They are expecting their first grandbaby in December 2018.
