We wish “♪♬♪… they could all be California Girls!” Melanie is a proud product of Los Angeles Unified School District. She holds degrees in education, sign language and educational administration. She has had the honor of serving LAUSD as an educator for 31 years.
In that time Melanie has had the opportunity to view the industry from many different perspectives. Each has shaped the leader she is today. Melanie has led as a classroom teacher, a teacher advisor training new teachers, an assistant principal and a principal for the district. She was named Family Action Team Lead of the year in 2014 and Cage Busting School Implementer of the year in 2016.
Melanie lives in Los Angeles, California. Her family is the nucleus of her life. She has a twin brother, Mark, she loves and adores. Her adult children Miles and Maia are her everything. In her spare time she plays tennis, travels and spends time with family. It’s easy to understand since living in California that Melanie enjoys her time at the beach and the mountains. <
