TIM HAYDEN

TIM HAYDEN

Leadership Development Strategist

Raised in a small town in Colorado, Tim learned at an early age the impact great teachers have on the future. After getting sent home from school for making a poor choice in 6th grade, he was blown away when his math teacher showed up on his doorstep late that night and asked Tim’s mom if he could “Speak with Mike Tyson.” At their small kitchen table, his teacher taught him the lesson he had missed that day in class– the importance of making good decisions and asked “What do you want to do with your life and how can I help you reach your dreams?”

It was around this time Tim began to recognize he had great teachers all around him. From his parents and grandparents to the dynamic teachers he had growing up. Everyone had the same goal in mind, to help him reach his dreams. When it came time to pick a profession, Tim knew exactly what he would be studying… Education! He has been living his dreams in Andover, Kansas ever since. In his years as an educator, Tim’s experience has ranged from teaching at the elementary level to serving as an administrator at the secondary level. Recognized as the Kansas Middle School Principal of the Year in 2011, the one thing Tim knows for sure is “Regardless of a student’s age, regardless of their zip code, kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story!”

Tim shares his dreams with his wife Karen, also a Capturing Kids’ Hearts teacher, and their two children Hunter and Kennedy. When he is not working with students and school staff, he enjoys coaching and watching his own children participate in athletics, relaxing at the lake with his family, or taking a trip to the mountains to visit his parents in Colorado.
