Leadership Development Strategist

Yvette Ochoa grew up as the oldest of five children in Pueblo, Colorado. She is a first-generation college graduate, graduating in 2002 from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a minor in education. In 2006, she received her first master’s degree from Colorado College in science education and earned her second master’s in mathematics education from Walden University in 2011. She has continued to further her education and in 2015 earned a master’s in educational leadership from Argosy University.

Yvette began teaching fifth grade in 2002 with the Fountain-Fort Carson School District on the Fort Carson Army post. She transferred in 2008 to Lorraine Alternative School, where she taught science, math, and was a Teen Leadership course leader for middle and high school students. Since 2015, she has taught in the Colorado Springs School District in Colorado as a mathematics interventionist at Galileo Middle School.

Yvette first became familiar with the Flippen Group in 2004 when she was trained in Capturing Kids’ Hearts. In June of 2008, she was trained as a Teen Leadership course leader and taught the curriculum for five years. In 2017, she was hired by the Flippen Group.

Yvette’s passion is to make a difference in this world. She aspires to lead by example and encourages others to reach their fullest potential. She believes all children can learn and grow with the support of loving adults! Yvette lives with her husband, Zackary, and two daughters, Alexandrea and Kalejah, in Fountain, Colorado. In her spare time, she loves to run, travel, and spend quality time with her family and four dogs.
